2023 Opioid Summit
This was my first business trip and I was a bit nervous, thankfully my co-workers were awesome and I had lots of fun and learned a ton!
According to the website, “The Region 10 Opioid Summit serves as an educational and networking platform in the Pacific Northwest, encompassing Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. Its primary focus lies in workforce development initiatives aimed at individuals providing prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery services related to opioid use disorders. This comprehensive summit offers valuable insights and resources for professionals across the field, addressing their diverse needs and interests.”
Program Design
I was in charge of designing the cover to the program as well as some of the pages in it. With the theme being “The Road to Healthier Communities”, I thought a picture with a road in the Pacific Northwest was fitting and visually appealing. Previous programs included geometric patterns as well as images of landmarks in the Region 10 area, so I kept this in mind when creating the visual identity of this years conference.
Name Badges and Signage
With both the name badges and signage, my goal was to keep the text as readable as possible while still looking great. This is especially important when it comes to name badges, because as a conference attendee you don’t always remember everyone’s name, and it can be awkward trying to read someone’s name badge if the font is small.
Looking back, I can see a lot of changes I would have made knowing everything I do now. But it was my first time designing material for a serious event, and juxtaposed with previous years’ designs it was quite excellent haha!
